Known for combining virtuosic violin performance with live looping and electronics, Rebekah's compositional style is vibrant and versatile, effortlessly blending influences from classical music and jazz with global folk music, electronic dance music and sounds from the black British diaspora.
Presented by Chineke! this intimate evening of immersive live music, will evolve from a single motif into a victorious and cinematic fanfare. Spinning multi-layered soundscapes from a single violin line, Rebekah Reid has performed her solo set in notable venues including THe Royal Albert Hall, Kings Place, Aviva Studios – Factory International, been featured in The Strad and Jazzwise Magazine, and made appearances on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Add to Playlist with Cerys Matthews and Jeffrey Boayke, Lauren Laverne’s BBC 6 Music breakfast show and ‘This Classical Life’ with Jess Gillam.
Reid’s compositions have had spins on BBC Radio 3, BBC 6 Music, BBC 1Xtra, Soho Radio and Magic Classical. Her debut solo album Selected Works Vol.1, received critical acclaim, making it onto the longlist in 5 different categories for the 66th GRAMMY Awards.
