Join us for an enchanting evening of music with Flautist Daniel Shao and Harpist Nicolette Chin as the delicate timbres of flute and harp unite, in a concert celebrating the rich diversity of classical and contemporary composers.
The program features an exciting blend of works by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Jacques Ibert, Caroline Lizotte, Camille Saint-Saëns, and Alison Loggins-Hull.
From the arrangement of Deep River (an African-American spiritual) by Coleridge-Taylor to the impressionistic colours of Ibert and Saint-Saëns, we will take a musical journey through Europe and beyond. Contemporary voices shine through in Caroline Lizotte’s vivid Suite Galactique, and the dynamic, socially engaged work of Alison Loggins-Hull, offering a fresh perspective on today's classical tradition.
This unique recital honours both tradition and innovation, drawing connections across time, culture, and genre, with two performers of mixed background hailing from China and Singapore now based in the UK
