Adam Heron Wins Prizes at International Piano Competition

Chineke! pianist Adam Heron has just won three awards at Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem International Piano Competition, which took place in Morocco earlier this month (1st - 7th November). He was awarded 1st Prize, 1st Nominated (Superior Category) and Special Prize of the Embassy of France for the best performance of a work by a French composer. Adam performed with the Chineke! Orchestra at the 2017 Cheltenham Festival, playing Mozart's Piano Concerto No.9.

A member of the jury who particularly praised Adam was London-based pianist Rebeca Ormodia. Rebeca is also a member of Chineke!, having played with the Ensemble at this summer's Cheltenham and Ryedale festivals.

Many congratulations to Adam; what an incredible achievement!
